Staff Spotlight

Meet Hiroko!

What do you do at Touch Trust and when did you join the charity?

It must have been between 2004 – 2005 when I first met Dilys and colleagues of Touch Trust and did my certificate training in Touch Trust then started working for the charity around January 2006.

What do you enjoy the most about working for Touch Trust. What Inspires you?

Smiles from our guests definitely make my day, week or even for the whole month.  I sometimes even get to witness our guests expressing themselves authentically through arts and they are the most beautiful thing in the world that words do not describe how amazing these experiences are.  Also meeting the most extraordinary people who embody the best in humanity in caring for others. These things do not stop inspiring me.

What music are you listening to at the moment? What helps you relax in the evening?

My favourite must be Spiegel im Spiegel (lit. ‘mirror(s) in the mirror’) by Arvo Pärt 1978.  I sometimes use the tune in our session to relax with our guests too.  Any Cello played by Mischa Maisky. His Album Meditation is one of my favourites.

Recently, I have been listening to a lot of Kora played by Seckou Keita – would love to see his live performance soon.
