 Visit to Brecon Cathedral

Saturday 22nd September 2012

The sun shone brightly on Saturday – no better kind of day to visit such a picturesque setting.  The Diocese of Swansea and Brecon fundraised for Touch Trust raising a generous sum of £5732.94. Bishop John Davies and the congregation gave such a warm welcome; the service that afternoon was thought provoking and memorable. We are one of the three charities that were chosen, including Maggie’s Cancer Caring Centres and The Foundation for Relief and Reconciliation in the Middle East. It was a great opportunity to learn more about the leading work that they do to improve the lives of others.

Ysgol Penmaes is in Brecon and is one of our provider members. The school is a strong part of the Brecon community; staff and pupils participate in gatherings at the Cathedral. Thus, Touch Trust became familiar to Bishop John. On visiting the Wales Millennium Centre for aCardiff Metropolitan University (formerly UWIC) graduation ceremony, the Bishop initiated contact with Dilys after listening to her address upon receiving her Fellowship from the University.

A lovely day had by all. We are very grateful for the kindness and generosity of all those who supported Touch Trust via the Diocese and beyond. We would highly recommend a visit to Brecon and to the Cathedral. See the link below for more information.
