WHO WE ARE
Touch Trust is a pioneering charity that was established by its Founder, Dilys Price OBE, in August 1997 in response to the need for touch-based, creative and educational movement opportunities for people with profound and multiple disabilities.

THE FOUNDER DIRECTOR
Dilys Price OBE, B.Ed (Hons), M.Ed,
- Associate of. College of Healing; Laban Art of Movement Guild: Teacher Certificate.

Dilys Price has been a Senior Lecturer at the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff, since 1960.

She worked on the Human Movement Studies Degree Courses and was responsible for Dance Studies.

She pioneered the first British Adapted Physical Education courses for Physical Education and Movement Studies and trained teachers in this field throughout the UK.

She has also lectured in the USA and in Wales she was part of a team which built and founded the Wales Sports Centre for the Disabled.
- In July 2003 Dilys was awarded the OBE for Services to the Disabled.
Her experience and enthusiasm has now helped to create the Touch Trust Charity, to enrich the lives of individuals with disabilities.

AIMS
- To enable everyone to enhance their quality of life through contact with the Touch Trust’s unique creative movement and dance programme.

To promote Touch Trust to educational, health and social care and community dance and arts organisations and independent artists throughout Wales.

To provide training programmes in Touch Trust for carers and related professionals.

To advocate for disability equality by working in partnership with the other flagship Arts Residents within the Wales Millennium Centre as well as other practitioners of the arts.

OBJECTIVES
- To provide outreach work and training programmes within educational and community settings.

To network with community dance and arts practitioners, disability dance organisations and independent artists to promote “best practice” at all times.

To develop themed projects and performances in collaboration with community/disability dance and arts organisations and independent artists.

To develop educational and research opportunities.

To establish a Wales Touch Trust Community Centre and College for the Arts for post 18 school leavers with autism and profound and multiple disabilities in joint partnership with educational and artistic professionals and organisations.
